WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with an attempted murder case last month near Creekwood.

WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley said in a news released police and members of the US Marshals Task Force arrested Wakeel Stewart, 18, of Wilmington around 3 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Pine Valley Drive.

Police say around 11 a.m. on Oct. 17 Stewart and two other men, Kolton Thompson, 24, and Daiquan Jacobs, 17, fired several shots at a teen riding his bike in the 1100 block of Stewart Circle. The victim was not injured.

Thompson and Jacobs were arrested shortly after the incident. All three men are in the New Hanover County Jail tonight.

Stewart is in jail under $1 million bond. The Department of Corrections website says he is wanted as an absconder from probation/parole. His record includes a 2011 conviction for obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods and a 2012 conviction for drug possession.
